17th International Congress for Renewable Mobility - Be there

In the opening plenary of the congress on 20 January 2020, speakers from politics and science will present their analysis of the appropriate measures for climate protection through sustainable, renewable mobility and will shed light on the political aspects in their presentations, legal and technical framework for the future of the transport sector:

Arthur Auernhammer, MdB and president of the managing committee of the German Bioenergy Association, will balance the role of biofuels in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in transport.

Dr. Tamara Zieschang, State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, will give a presentation on climate protection targets in transport and the related questions of enforcement and acceptance of the measures.

The chairman of the "National Platform Future of Mobility" convened by the Federal Minister of Transport, Prof. Dr. Henning Kagermann, will present the results of the expert commission to date. The expert commission involves relevant stakeholders as well as specialist expertise and policy-makers in the debate on tomorrow's mobility.

Prof. Dr. Claudia Kemfert from the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin) will explain which measures in the transport sector will lead to more climate protection and how financial risks for the federal budget can be reduced. After all, failure to meet European climate protection targets could result in penalties under the European burden sharing regulation. DIW Berlin has conducted a study to examine in particular the contribution that biofuels can make in this context.

Dr. Jörg Adolf, Stakeholder Relations Manager at Shell Deutschland Oil GmbH, will report on the importance of alternative fuels for a leading company in the mineral oil and gas industry.

Prof. Dr. Jürgen Krahl, President of the Technical University of East Westphalia-Lippe, will explain the perspectives of the combustion engine and alternative fuels in the context of international climate protection concepts.
